Right now the best thing you can do to push back on the Center for Disease Control’s eviction ban is to communicate with your representatives to Congress.

Dear Senator or Representative,
I am a housing provider in [your state or district] and I am concerned about the Center for Disease Control’s ban on residential evictions because of COVID-19.
- When federal, state, and local government imposed stay at home orders, the result was lost income;
- When people lose their jobs they often can’t pay rent;
- When my residents — my customers — can’t pay, I can’t cover my costs like maintenance, utilities and property taxes;
- What my COVID-19 impacted residents need isn’t an eviction ban, they need fast help with unpaid rent;
- Please work to remove the CDC’s ban on eviction; and
- Pass a fast and efficient rental assistance package accessible to housing providers with COVID-19 impacted residents.
I understand these are politically volatile times, but I think everyone agrees that people who’ve lost income because of COVID-19 response should get the help they need as soon as possible.
